Sky Beach Resort

sky beach resort

Sky Beach Resort ( which used to be known as Bene Resort )  opened in late 2013 and is located on the southwest facing beach on Ko Mak

With only a handful of ensuite, air-conditioned bungalows it is easy to miss this cosy, small resort as you walk along the beach.  This friendly, small resort used offers some of the best value,  absolute beachfront bungalows on the island – for around 2,500 Baht per night.

There is no pool at the resort, but you don’t really need one with the sea only 20 metres away but there is a breezy beachfront restaurant where you can while away the days. A few minutes walk along the beach brings you to the busier area where there is a variety of shops and restaurants.

A great spot for a holiday and the beachfront bungalows, really are beachfront.  Just step outside and you’re on the sand.  The resort also has a very good restaurant which attracts diners staying elsewhere on the island.

Koh Mak Cottage

Koh Mak Cottage

Koh Mak Cottage is the neighbor of Baan Koh Mak and also under the same management.  The resort has recently been renovated and the basic ensuite huts painted and decorated to make them brighter and more inviting. The resort is built in a U shape with a large open garden area in the centre.  This means that all bungalows have at least  a partial sea view from the balcony and receive a cooling sea breeze at night.

The 19 bungalows all have a Queen size bed, fan, ensuite bathroom and 24 hour electricity.  On the beachfront the resort’s beach bar is a popular hangout in the evening.  A dive shop, a mini mart and local Thai restaurants are all nearby.

A good option for people on a budget who want to be within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants.
