Who We Are and How to Contact Us
Unlike many travel and hotel booking websites at Koh-Mak.com you actually deal with real people who know the island, and the resort owners and who have lived here for several years. This site is a partnership between two friends one based on Koh Mak and the other on Koh Chang.
‘Ball’ is one of the best known characters on Koh Mak. Originally from Bangkok he moved to the island in 2003 to manage a new resort and ended up staying and working with the resort owners in order to promote the island and it’s unique attractions. He’s known for his willingness to help anyone and go out of his way to assist visitors to the island. He also brought the first speedboat to the island, helped set up the coral nursery, worked with the local authorities to plan the mountain bike trail, and organised numerous training courses in everything from English language to the art of coffee making for locals and resort staff. He also has a passion for fast motorbikes, which has got to be a good thing. You’ll find him, or his wife Oy, at Ball Cafe near Ao Nid pier.
‘Ian’ runs a guesthouse on Koh Chang as well as what most sensible people consider to be the best Koh Chang related website – Iamkohchang.com and the island’s first real estate website – KohChangRealEstate.com . He first came to Koh Chang in 2003 and met Ball a couple of years later when Ball was working for a resort owner on Koh Mak. Since then they have stayed in touch and co-operated in trying to promote Koh Mak as both a place for a vacation and as a location for a holiday home. Ian’s English is better and so, although he often refers to himself in the third person, he is responsible for writing the content for this site. He will probably lurk in the background and leave Ball to be the human face of Koh-Mak.com.
If you are in Thailand you can contact Ball direct on 081.925.6591, outside Thailand +6681.925.6591.
You’ll see contact forms like the one below on most pages of the site. We are happy to answer any general questions you have about the island in addition to arranging transport, boat tickets, booking hotels etc
