Ao Kao White Sand Beach Resort
Ao Kao White Sand Beach Resort is a small family-run resort that lies on, and is named after, one of most beautiful beaches on Koh Mak. We are one of the pioneers in tourism on Koh Mak and the owner of Ao Kao Resort established the first ever resort on the island many years ago. There is a 5 km long sandy beach right in front of the resort. The 25 bungalows are built among a lush decades old coconut plantation. There is a restaurant and a internet cafe and various outdoor sports are possible.
The resort has been welcoming travelers from all over the world for the past 17 years. It is especially liked by European travelers (Scandinavian, German etc). Families and privacy lovers in particular enjoy our large, safe and natural surroundings. That’s why it’s some times not easy to find the resort, as it is not located in the immediate proximity of any pier, but don’t worry the resort staff will pick you up when you arrive on the island.
Ao Kao Resort is well known for the variety of sports and activities that are provided for guests – eg. Archery, Trampolining, Kayaking, Mountainbike Hire, Kid’s playground, Table Football etc. To help you stay in contact with the outside world there is also free wifi internet at the resort.
Accommodation is in a variety of bungalows:
Lanna Seaview Bungalows. These six wooden bungalows are the newest. They all have a small balcony, AC and bathroom with hot water shower plus TV, DVD, minibar etc. They also do have an extra dressing room area, making them ideal for families with young children who like to be close to the beach.
Ayuttaya Bungalows. These romantic beach front bungalows are surrounded by an attractive garden with a wide open view towards the sea. They are named after the original Thai Ayuthaya style of their design. These bungalows are more private and cozy. They have a large balcony, AC and bathroom with hot water shower plus TV, DVD, minibar etc.
Talay Dao Bungalows. The name Talay Dao means “Sea & Stars”, this is for the view from these bungalows which are popular with guests who like to be close to the restaurant and beach. They have a small balcony, AC and bathroom with hot water shower plus TV, minibar etc.
Chuan Chom Bungalows. These Garden View bungalows are named after the desert rose , in Thai ‘Chuan Chom’. These are quieter and have more privacy than other bungalows but are set a stone’s throw away from the beach. They have a large balcony, AC and bathroom with hot water shower plus TV, DVD, minibar etc.
